WHAT IS YOUR BODY REJECTING?

Lately I have had some reactions in my body that have made me reflect on what it is trying to tell me. Everybody is different and reacts differently to different foods.
Some people are intolerant to gluten, others to dairy, others to caffeine, others to alcohol; there are also people who do not process sugar well or have food allergies, even to sausages. Every person is different, and we have to accept the fact that our bodies are different too. The fact that a large percentage of people don't react the way we do to a certain food doesn't invalidate it. Just because our reaction or rejection to a certain food is not common, does not mean that we should ignore it. For example, if you see that it is very common for people to drink coffee on a daily basis but it makes you sick and makes you bloated, you should not be drinking it, because you already know that your body rejects it.
Just because something is “common” doesn’t mean it’s okay. Remember, commercials used to recommend cereal for kids’ breakfasts and sell it as something nutritious, but now we know that cereal is very high in sugar.
Remember that your body is wiser than the trends you see out there. It knows what is best for you and if it rejects a certain food it is for a reason. Listen to your body and your inner guidance. Turn up the volume on the inside and turn down the volume on the outside noise. Follow what is best for you, listen to your inner self.
I write about this topic because it is my own reflection, something that has been a bit difficult for me to accept and with which I have had a long process. Sometimes when my body rejects a food I try to force it because its consumption is common, but I realized that even if it works for many people, that does not mean that it works for me. I realized that my body is wise, it really knows what is best for me and it generates its reaction accordingly. This change is not a one-day change, learning to listen to ourselves is a whole process that we practice day by day. Have faith, everything improves when you listen to yourself.
I would like to hear your stories about food, if you have felt that your body rejects a certain food and how you have felt about it… You can share your experiences with me in the comments section or by email in the contact section.
I'll be happy to read them :)
Love, Mel.
