BOOK: Being happy, from Andrew Matthews.

The first book I want to recommend is the first book that had a positive impact on me and the one that helped me get started on the path of personal development. When I was 13 this book came into my life, at that time I didn't have any knowledge about mental development or anything like that.I remember that at that time my reading was leaning towards youth novels and I had not consumed any personal development up to that point. It came to me in a very unexpected way; a co-worker had lent it to my aunt, and my aunt, who knew that I liked to read, offered it to me in case I wanted to read it before she gave it back.

The title “Being Happy” sounded cliché, but I said why not?, so I started reading it.

When I read it I couldn't believe what I was discovering, it was the first time I had read anything about mental development. Until now I had only formed my mentality from what I was taught and what I felt was right, I was running on automatic. The book addresses the topic of mental patterns in a very clear and easy-to-understand way. It explains how our behavior is directly related to the patterns that form in the subconscious and that these manifest as expression. It gives as an example, the patterns of illness, disorder, bankruptcy... among others. These patterns are responsible for us repeating certain situations until we even reach the point of identifying with a certain type of behavior or we become the type of person "that kind of thing happens".

The interesting thing is not only to understand how the mind works, but as the book progresses, the author explains how you can change your mind and reprogram it to live a happy and fulfilling life. One of the things I like most about this book is that it gives you the tools to live a happy life using only your mental capacity. Without focusing on external situations but on the contrary concentrating on the development of inner power, making you see that what you need to create a life in which you are happy is you with a good mentality.

That information was totally eye-opening for me. I couldn't believe what they said about the fact that you can learn to think differently and adopt another mindset. For me that was a totally revolutionary concept, it was information that I was unaware of until that moment.

I didn't know it was possible to change my mind. I thought that my mind was just the one I had, the one I was born with, the one I was given, and what I thought was my perception of the world. The way I perceived the world at that moment was not comfortable for me, but I didn't think there was a choice either. The moment I read that book and realized that I had a choice, that I could modify my mind and reprogram myself in a positive way, I saw a sea of possibilities opening up in front of me.

Changing my mind and my life was possible, that was all that mattered.

From that moment it became a bit of an obsession for me to find more information and create a big change in my life.

I recommend this book for all those people who decide to start on the path of personal development, who seek to change their mentality and reprogram themselves to live a better life. The Author definitely does a great job of delivering such a clear message and in such an easy way to understand. It is a truly valuable book that has the ability to help you change your mindset and offer you a new perspective so you can enjoy everyday life.It is very easy to read, uses simple terminology and provides many examples from everyday life, which makes the concept integrated in a very clear way. Even if you don't have the habit of reading, this is a book that you will definitely enjoy because it is a light read that can represent many positive changes in your mentality and consequently in your life.

If you decide to read this book, you can share your experience with me in the contact section.

Tell me, how did you like the book? How did it impact you in your life?

I will be happy to read it. :)

I hope the book is as helpful to you as it was to me at the time.

Love, Mel.
